The Grand Mosque was only rebuilt in 1998 and boasts the city’s tallest minaret, at 70m (231ft). The Grand Mosque consists of nine large domes and 45 smaller ones. The Grand Mosque is the largest mosque in the country of Kuwait. This beautiful 24K Crystal Landmark makes the perfect home decor or gift. The dome of the mosque is 26 meters in diameter, and 43 meters high, and is decorated with the “Asma al-hosna”, the 99 names of God. Construction on the mosque started in 1979, and the mosque was completed in 1986. The Arabic word for mosque is “masjid“. The Grand Mosque is known as one of the largest domes in the world, it is ornamented inside by engraved attributes of God names of Allah and verses of the Quran in beautiful Arabic calligraphy on Iranian Asfahani ceramics. The twenty-one doors have verses of the Quran and Islamic geometric designs.
