Napoleon Bonaparte, 15 August 1769 – 5 May 1821, later known as Emperor Napoleon I, was a French military and political leader who is considered one of the most influential figures in European history. Napoleon famed for his military successes and at the same time for not quite conquering Europe. Napoelon was regarded by the influential military theorist Carl von Clausewitz as a genius in the operational art of war and historians rank him as a great military commander. Wellington, when asked who was the greatest general of the day, answered: “In this age, in past ages, in any age, Napoleon. This is one of the famous sculptures of Napoleon Bonaparte.
