Jan Davidsz De Heem - Brussel Tapestries

Jan Davidsz De Heem was one of the greatest painters of still life in the Netherlands. This Brussel Tapestry is a reproduction of his original paintings. Tapestries have been used since at least Hellenistic times. Ancient Greek tapestries have been found preserved and dating from the 3rd century BC. Tapestries were draped on the walls of castles for insulation during winter, as well as for decorative display.
